For your business, built from scratch.
The templates are not the only thing here. Over the years my own restaurant needed plenty of other things, and I either built them or learned how to do them. If one of those is what you are looking for, and it makes sense to work on it with somebody who operates in the field, I am happy to help.
I built our own restaurant’s website. Not just because I enjoy it, but because it made a difference having it built by somebody inside the operation, who knew what we actually needed and could build around it. If you want the same for yours, I would be glad to help.
- A design built out of your brand, not a template with your logo on top, made with what the web allows today
- Laid out to steer people towards what you want them to see or do, starting with a booking
- A menu in text that loads instantly, no PDF. Written so search engines and AI can read it, and where your QR code lands
- A way to change the site from your phone, without depending on anybody. Mark a dish sold out, change a price, reorder the menu, and whatever else you need
- A reservations page built to convert, so your ads and your posts land somewhere that works
- Your own booking system working inside the site and in your own look, around the clock, wherever your provider allows it
- Tracking wired in properly, so you can see which ads bring bookings and which only bring clicks
If you want to see a restaurant one, here is mine
Tell me what you have nowIn a small business the digital side is often the first contact, and where people find you. It is where they form an impression of the brand and decide whether to show up.
Over time this spreads across several platforms, some set up long ago, some more recent. What is often missing is the coherence and the mechanics that make them leverage each other, and that is what I have been working on with ours for years.
Anything to do with your brand’s footprint, I am happy to look at. Set up properly, put in your name, and then either kept up together or handed back working, whichever suits you.
- Your own domain, registered in your brand's name, so the address of the business is yours and not a page inside somebody else's site
- Email on that domain, working inside the mail app you already use, not one more thing to log into
- Your Google Business Profile reviewed and optimised, with the menu, the hours and the bookings pointing at what is yours
- Apple Maps and Apple Business given the same treatment, for the people who prefer those
- Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and whatever else you have, reviewed, streamlined and optimised to work together
- Your booking system set up, optimised, and present wherever people go looking for you
- WhatsApp set up so people can reach you in one tap, from your site, your Google profile and your socials
- Google and Meta ads set up and measured properly, so at any point you know where to push, where to cut back and what to rethink
- And anything else on the digital side that has been on the list a while
What is already right, I will say so, and it stands validated.
Show me what is liveAI is hard to avoid now, and keeping up with it is worth some of your attention. There are two sides to it for a restaurant. One is being found: people ask an assistant where to eat, and whether your place comes up depends on things you can actually control. The other is what it does inside the business, in operations and in the way you work. That one has no standard answer, because it depends on your business and on how you run it.
For the last couple of years I have been keeping up with it and putting things in place, and some of them have made a real difference to a solo operator. Plenty of others are not worth the trouble in a restaurant, or are closer to gimmicks.
If it sounds like it makes sense for you, it starts with a conversation. You tell me about your situation, and I will tell you what would help, or set it up with you.
Some of what is running now:
- Invoices sorted and processed, without typing them in
- Email watched, with replies drafted for you to approve
- A monthly review of the ads: what performed, and what to change
- Google reviews monitored, so a bad one does not sit there for a week
- Large piles of information digested: supplier data, price lists, comparisons
- Numbers not only ready when the accountant needs them, but in plain terms for you, whenever you want to look
- An assistant that knows your business, for the questions you keep asking
Running a small place can sometimes feel like a lonely job. It is your money, your staff, your suppliers, and in the end your problem.
What I can bring is ten years of hands-on experience, from somebody driven by results, who likes the technology side of it, and who had to learn a lot over the years to stay in business.
If you want to brainstorm or work on something specific, I am happy to. That can be an hour, or it can be a week alongside you if that is what the job needs. It depends entirely on what you are dealing with.
Things people bring:
- Opening or refitting a place: the name, the brand, the concept, the menu, the website, sizing, equipment, team, tools, and everything else that comes with it
- A menu that stopped making money
- Food and drink costs that do not add up
- Delivery: commissions, negotiations, menu engineering, and whether it makes sense
- Suppliers: streamlining, and adjusting to price volatility, stock constraints and shifts in the wider economy
- Staff: sizing, adjusting and optimising, now or when things change (revenue falling, volume growing, scaling to a second site, and so on)
- Brainstorming with somebody in the same trade but outside your business, on a specific problem or a broader look. Being attached to it, and buried in the day to day, is often what stops us from seeing something simple that would make a real difference
Most of what is here is built to work in almost any business without changes. But not every situation is solved by a tool built for the general case.
Sometimes it is a small job. One of those tools reshaped around how you actually work: your suppliers, your sections, the way you count and the way you order. Targeted changes that often unlock what the general version never quite reaches.
Other times nothing on the market fits, and it has to be built. A small application, or an internal system made for one specific situation. It is not always worth it, but it often frees up time and energy that are better spent elsewhere. Because this kind of work is so specific, if I think it will not pay for itself, or the market is about to solve it anyway, I will tell you before we start.
